Most Web By Lou websites are built on Squarespace and range from one-page starter sites to multi-page business websites. I also refresh existing websites that need a little love.

For most small businesses, Squarespace does everything a good business website needs to do — and, importantly, it's relatively easy for you to manage once I've handed it over.

It's reliable, mobile-friendly and doesn't require you to become a web developer just to change a photo, update your opening hours or edit a sentence.

It also fits the my philosophy: you shouldn't need to depend on your web designer forever just to keep your website running.

Squarespace is my go-to platform because it's a great fit for the simple, easy-to-manage websites for busy, small business owners (trust me, speaking from experience). However, I do also use WordPress (I mainly work with the Avada theme) and can quote separately for projects where another platform makes more sense.

Website Starter packages begin from $900, Business Websites from $1,800, and Website Refreshes from $600.

These prices assume a fairly straightforward project using supplied branding, copy and imagery. If your website needs additional pages, copywriting, specialised functionality or anything outside the standard package, I'll let you know and provide a quote before we begin.

You don't need to arrive with a fully formed website design in your head (that’s my job :D)

Before I start, I'll ask about your business, your customers and the look and feel you're drawn to. I'll also ask you to share a couple of websites you like and tell me what you like about them.

From there, I'll choose the design direction and Squarespace starting point I think best suits your business and content.

And if your design direction is basically “Lou, you decide”? That's completely fine too.

Website Starter and Website Refresh include one round of revisions, while Business Website includes two rounds.

I'll ask you to review the whole website and send your requested changes together as one consolidated round of feedback. It keeps the process quick and avoids endless email ping-pong.

If you'd like additional changes after your included revisions, that's no problem. Additional work is charged at my hourly rate, and I'll always let you know before any additional costs apply.

Major changes to the original project scope may require a separate quote.

Web By Lou is designed for small businesses and sole traders who want a quick but professional, straightforward website without an unnecessarily complicated build or ongoing management arrangement.

If you mainly need somewhere great online to explain what you do, showcase your business and make it easy for customers to contact, book or enquire, we'll probably get along very well.

If you're planning a highly customised platform, large e-commerce store, complex membership system or something requiring substantial custom development, I may not be the right person… and I'll happily tell you that before either of us wastes our time!
